My dad has traveled for work once or twice a month since I was 5 years old. Every time he would go away, I would receive a post card from wherever he was, telling me of his travels and how much he missed me. After 16 years of traveling, I have collected over 500 post cards. These span my walls of my home, as a reminder of my father's love for me and that, even though I might have my one corner of the world, there is so much out there, waiting to be discovered.

As well as his work travels, my father also joined my mom, my brother and I on our quest to reach all 50 states by the time I was 21 and my brother was 18. On August, 8, 2018, coincidentally my father's 50th birthday, we hit all 50 states.

I wanted one of my senior thesis projects to become a tribute to my dad's and my family's travels, and be reminiscent of the postcards I've collected.

I decided to create 3-D postcards, of 4 of the 5 regions of the United States. Each post card includes a landscape, a building, an animal and plant life from that region.

The Southwest

A red rock scene, with adobe inspired house, cacti, and coyote companion.  Complete with color-changing sunrise from remote controlled LED lights.

The Midwest

Rolling farmland, with barn, crops, and happy cow. Lit by natural lighting for a day time scene.

The Southeast

A bayou scene, with house-boat, Cyprus knees and moss, and gator pal. Complete with LED green lights for that spooky dusky swamp feel.

The West

Yellowstone inspired mountain scene, with log cabin, forest and lake, and a family of bison. Lit with LED stars for a beautiful nighttime view.
